So, I was in for a music and fun marathon and I needed a comfy place where to take respite (none of that tents in mud malarkey on the Continent, you know!). This little gem felt like home from home. A self-catering studio flat on the second floor of this gorgeous stone building, it had been brought up to date with a mix of modern fixtures and vintage furniture. And very affordable it was too (around GBP80 per night - look for Apartments Suites in Antwerp). Ultra comfy queen size bed and 1920s furniture made of a cosy retreat. 

The bathroom with his and hers basins was a mix of modern fixtures and period charm. One can never go wrong with a marble splashback teamed with white metro tiles.

I just loved these high ceilings - room for thoughts! And that vintage chandelier was a delight. I have to admit I am getting drawn to wallpaper lately - although I'll always be a 'slap-paint-on-the-wall' girl, wallpaper does provide texture and is a good way of hiding an imperfect wall.  

After rocking out to some of my favourite bands for three days, it was sadly time to go home, albeit with a head full of inspiration! I can't wait to go to these parts of the world again, and if you bear in mind Brussels is only about two hours from London by train, this could be arranged very easily!
